Neary | Irish, Born 1977

John Neary is a Detroit based artist who utilizes a structured abstract approach in his installations. His work delivers a peaceful and minimal aesthetic heavily influenced by a contemporary take on traditional Irish arts and culture.

He works in multiple mediums, producing a diverse portfolio of work bound together with a recognizable language of minimalism, structure and quiet forms. His preferred medium is acrylic on canvas but he continuously experiments with different approaches to achieve a texture, feel and vibrancy that allows his minimal language to flourish. John is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and is a self-taught artist.
