This set contains, within it's own structure, the ogham writing to spell the title in Gaelic. The painting is done on a Canvas in Acrylic.
The markings spell "Mo Lamh" and "Do Lamh" which is Gaelic for "My Hand" and "Your Hand" respectively. I wanted this piece to evoke joy and unity - It was created to help someone work through grief in a healthy manner, celebrating their relationship with their lost loved one. I plan to build a series around this theme. The figures are structured and intentional, against a background that is textured, complicated and fluid. When I contrast these two elements I'm thinking about how we try to make sense and bring structure to a world over which we have very little control.
Available framed in maple.
