This piece contains, within it's own structure, the ogham writing to spell the title in Gaelic. The painting is done on a Canvas in Acrylic.

The markings spell "Am" which is Gaelic for "Time". I wanted this piece to evoke calmness and serenity. I have done a similar composition before, and the heavily textured finish is what makes this composition unique. The figures are structured and intentional, against a background that is textured, complicated and fluid. When I contrast these two elements I'm thinking about how we try to make sense and bring structure to a world over which we have very little control.
